Before hiring on Stack-overflow you should know some basic information about it
Stack overflow has information such as
Recruiters can identify the weightage of the profile under the activity tab by their reputations, Tags, communities also the Badges. Recruiters can also identify the User Name, Location, Social links like LinkedIn/Twitter.
“Reputation is a measurement of how much the community trusts you, earned by convincing your peers you know what you are talking about.”
Badges: (https://stackoverflow.com/help/what-are-badges)
#Tags represent the expertise and the languages.
If you wanna use exclusively I would recommend you for Stack overflow Talent which is a paid version where you can search candidates by Experience and send In-mails.
